Q and A: Labiaplasty

Who should get a labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty can be for cosmetic or functional purposes.  Any woman who is unhappy with the way her genitalia look is a candidate

How is labiaplasty performed?

There are several ways through which labiaplasty to make the labia smaller can be accomplished.  The Gynecologists at the Gynecology Institute of Chicago have pioneered a hybrid of both the 'trim' and the 'wedge' procedures which follows the natural line of the labia, the 'C-technique', allowing for faster healing and a more natural looking result.

What can I expect after surgery?

After your labiaplasty to make the labia smaller, you may experience some spotting and swelling.  We advise cold packs on and off the first few days as well as taking an NSAID such as Ibuprofen to decrease the inflammatory response and speed healing.  Click HERE for our before and after photos.

I had a labiaplasty with another doctor and I don't like it.

If you are unhappy with the results from a previous surgery, make a consult with the Gynecologists at the Gynecology Institute.  We specialize in conditions of the pelvic floor and make be able to revise the previous surgery to get the result you desire.
