We are happy to announce that Dr. Pierre Johnson has joined The Gynecology Institute of Chicago. Dr. Johnson is on a crusade to eradicate health care disparities that plague our communities. Awareness through education is Dr. Johnson’s primary focus, along with providing innovative gynecologic surgery to those in need. Dr. Johnson also provides free health seminars to communities of Chicagoland, focusing on the South and West sides.
Dr. Johnson was born and raised on the south side of Chicago. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in biology from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2002, he received his MD from the University of Illinois in 2008. He went on to complete a General Surgery internship at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC and successfully completed an Ob-Gyn residency training in 2013 from Southern Illinois University. Dr. Johnson has been in ob-gyn private practice since 2013, specializing in minimally invasive Gynecologic surgery, robotic surgery, and pelvic floor repair.
Dr. Johnson has a passion for educating and inspiring people. He was featured in The New York Times Magazine article, “A Prescription for More Black Doctors,” in 2015. In addition, he has been featured on WGN News, The Chicago Tribune, Sister Circle, and Windy City Live as well as several other media outlets. Dr. Johnson co-authored "Pulse of Perseverance"- Three Black Doctors on their Journey to Success. The doctors have been featured on multiple television platforms including NBC's Today Show, The Steve Harvey Show, and ABC World News.
We are happy to welcome Dr. Johnson to our South Suburban and Wabash offices. He now is accepting patients. Expect a high caliber of service and dedication to your wellness.
