Dr. Nicole Williams has an extensive research background . She was a National Institutes of Health research grant recipient in plasmid DNA research during medical school and also presented research on Intravenous Leiomyomatosis at the University of Chicago. During her training, Dr. Williams earned a certificate in Female Sexual Dysfunction from world renowned sexual Psychologist Dr. Domeena Renshaw at Loyola University based on the principles of Masters and Johnson.
Active in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), she has served as the Junior Fellow Illinois Section Chairperson and currently serves on the Political Action Committee, lobbying congress regularly on women's health issues. Dedicated to the welfare of women, Dr. Williams has traveled to the Dominican Republic, Rwanda, Haiti, Cambodia, The Philippines, and Ghana to perform necessary gynecologic surgery on those in need.
For 3 years, Dr. Williams held a position as teaching faculty and Clinical Instructor with the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. She served as chairman of the DaVinci Minimally Invasive Surgery Committee at Mercy Hospital, developing their Robotic Gynecologic Surgery Program. In 2014, she became only the second physician in the state of Illinois to be certified in the Acessa procedure for fibroids. Since then, she has performed more than 500 of this complex surgical procedure.
Her clinical interests include heavy menstrual periods, fibroids, female sexual dysfunction, menopause and bioidentical hormone therapy, female incontinence, and endometriosis. In addition, she is a member of the American Urogynecologic Society (AUGS), American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), The American College of Surgeons (ACS), and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL). Dr. Williams is also a member of Mensa, the international high I.Q. society.
When not actively working in those fields, she enjoys writing short stories and poetry, playing piano, and is dedicated to international mission work. Dr. Williams has been featured on ABC, CBS, WGN, NPR, and FOX Chicago as an expert on women's health.

Sarah Halfmann, CNP is passionate about women's health. She completed her undergraduate study at the University of Michigan where she received a BS in Nursing. She has extensive experience in various outpatient women's health centers and also has a background in Intensive Care. After training with and passing the Gynecology Institute's rigorous additional curriculum, she has joined the team as an Advanced Certified Nurse Practitioner. In addition, Sarah is also certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Her clinical interests include general women's health, STI's, vaginitis/vaginosis, and public health/community service.
When not at work, Sarah is an avid Vinyasa yoga practitioner, enjoys playing with her dog, and is planning on running her first marathon this year! She has also authored several BLOG posts on women's health topics.

Dr. Johnson was born and raised on the south side of Chicago. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in biology from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2002, he transitioned to post baccalaureate education at Southern Illinois University. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois in 2008. He went on to complete a General Surgery internship at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC and successfully completed an Ob-Gyn residency training in 2013 from Southern Illinois University. Dr. Johnson has been in ob-gyn private practice since 2013, specializing in minimally invasive Gynecologic surgery, robotic surgery, and pelvic floor repair.
Dr. Johnson has a passion for educating and inspiring people. He was featured in The New York Times Magazine article, “A Prescription for More Black Doctors,” in 2015. In 2016, Dr. Johnson received the Xavier University “40 under 40” award for young professional achievement. In addition, he has been featured on WGN News, The Chicago Tribune, Sister Circle, and Windy City Live as well as several other media outlets. Dr. Johnson co-authored "Pulse of Perseverance"- Three Black Doctors on their Journey to success. Through The Pulse of Perseverance Foundation, the doctors have provided monthly scholarships to well deserving youth since September 2018. The doctors have been featured on multiple television platforms including NBC's Today Show, The Steve Harvey Show, and ABC World News.
Dr. Johnson's clinical interests include pelvic floor dysfunction, incontinence, and minimally invasive hysterectomy. He is a full-time dad of a daughter and a son.

Allison Holcomb, PA-C has always had an interest in women’s health before deciding to pursue a career in it. She studied at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, which is also her hometown, where she earned a bachelor of science in biology and minor in chemistry. During her physician assistant graduate studies in southwest Virginia, Allison completed 12 clinical rotations in a variety of different specialties, but ultimately found her passion in women’s health. After training with Dr. Williams and completing the rigorous instruction program at the Gynecology Institute, she joined the team as the first physician assistant at the practice. Allison’s interests include STI’s, effective cancer screenings, pelvic pain, and sexual dysfunction. When not seeing patients, Allison enjoys spending time travelling, trying different cuisines, and hiking/kayaking with her husband and golden retriever, Murphy.

Ela was a professional volleyball player in Romania. In 1990 she obtained a certification in kinesiology and sports massage for rehabilitation of sports injuries at the National Sports Institute in Bucharest, Romania. While living in Romania, Ela treated Olympic athletes in volleyball, basketball, swimming and gymnastics.
After moving to the United States, Ela continued her massage career at elite health clubs and spas in Chicago, including The Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, and Elizabeth Arden. Ela was promoted to head massage therapist at the Four Seasons in 2000, and continued as the head therapist until 2002. Ela opened her private practice in 1995, and began devoting her time exclusively to her private practice in 2002.
In 2000 Ela graduated from the Ohashiatsu Institute with a degree in Shiatsu. Ela then added acupuncture to her specialties in 2002 by graduating from the Midwest College with a Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine.
After practicing Hatha Yoga, Ela decided to further expand her holistic health practice and became a certified yoga instructor studying under the guidance of the special Suddha Weixler of Chicago Yoga Center.
Ela is always learning, growing and adding disciplines to better serve her clients' and patients' needs.

Maria Luz Carballo, LMT | Licensed Massage Therapist

Maria is our holistic massage therapist who provides occasional services the Gynecology Institute. She received her LMT in 2013, and is well versed in various forms of massage including Shiatsu, chair massage, and hot stones. She is a native of Argentina. Maria is also fluent in Spanish and Portugese.
Maria is in a blues band and plays the guitar. She may be see on her off nights playing in live music venues around Chicago.
Shirley Rosado, MA | Lead Medical Assistant

Shirley Rosado is our lead Medical Assistant at the Gynecology Institute She is a native Chicagoan and has worked as an ultrasound technician at Northwestern Hospital in both administrative and clinical duties. Dedicated to service, she is well equipped to perform in office procedures such as urodynamics, ultrasound, and laser and assists Dr. Williams and colleagues as needed for office surgical procedures. Shirley is also fluent in Spanish.
Shirley has two children and enjoys spending time with her family whenever she can. In addition, she is an avid bowler and has won many league trophies with her team!
