The normal anatomy of the vagina can be quite variable. Unfortunately, sometimes the anatomy of the labia can be irregular, enlarged, or otherwise abnormal. These differences can lead to chronic vaginal irritation, discharge, and even pain with sex. In order to restore normal anatomy, labioplasty or vaginal rejuvenation must be performed. This detailed procedure surgically reduces the diameter of the labia. As a result, discharge and irritation are reduced, and sexual function is likely to be improved. Take for example a 31 year old patient who suffered with painful sex and chronic vaginal discharge:
After surgery and healing, normal anatomy has been restored. She no longer suffers from labial tearing with sex and chronic irritative discharge.
At The Gynecology Institute, we don't do "designer vaginas." We recognize that each patient and her anatomy are unique and we respect those differences. Our surgeries are designed with you in mind.
