Leakage of Urine?

We at the GIC are always investigating the best options for our patients. In addition to our groundbreaking laser vaginal therapy, we offer an insurance-based option to combat leakage of urine, otherwise known as stress urinary incontinence.
Stress urinary incontinence is usually caused by a weakened pelvic floor, whether that be from childbirth, strenuous exercise, chronic constipation, or a chronic cough, to name a few causes. Usually only a few drops of urine leak out, but it can be much more. This can cause one to need to wear pantyliners, carry a change of underwear, and can also be an unwelcome addition to intercourse.
Our single incision sling by Coloplast offers a minimally invasive way to cradle the opening where urine is released, the urethra, to keep it from moving during those leak-causing activities. It is small, adjustable, and has a 5 year efficacy rate of up to 80%!
