FINALLY! Simple pain control for office procedures

If you've ever had an IUD placed, you know the searing pain that can be produced with the procedure. When it's time for a new device to be placed, or to have any gyn procedure, we understand that it can be nerve wracking to consider. This is exactly why we at the Gynecology Institute have brought on Nitrous Oxide for pain control.

Nitrous oxide, commonly called “laughing gas”, is mainly used in dental offices to help with pain during dental procedures as well as labor and delivery. When nitrous oxide is used for gynecologic pain/procedures, it is a mixture of 50% nitrous gas and 50% oxygen. This gas is inhaled through a mask that is provided by our facility. Nitrous oxide has been a common practice to help cope with pain for many years.

While not always covered by insurance, we have decided to bring on this amazing and simple pain management tool for our patients for a nominal fee. We are able to provide nitrous oxide for the following procedures:

  • IUD placement and removal

  • Colposcopy

  • Biopsies

  • Hysteroscopy

  • Labiaplasty

  • Trigger point injections

  • Pap test

Ask for Nitrous Oxide for your next procedure here at the GIC, and enjoy a more painless, stress-free experience!

Yours truly,
